Ronc dai Luchis Refosco Riserva 2016

The Ronc dai Luchis winery is located in Faedis, a town northeast of Udine at the base of the eastern hills of Friuli. It is a small, family business and the Refosco di Faedis vines (also known as Refosco Nostrano) are approximately 80 years old. Refosco is a variety know for its high acidity, but which two years in oak casks has greatly helped tamed here, rounding out to maintain lift and vibrancy. Medium-bodied, tart and tangy but smooth, with violets, rose hips, and berries, with a woodsy/smokey undertone.
